Victory Model S&W

I have a Victory Model S&W that was given to me.It does not have any Govt.markings on it.It seems all the ones I see say Property of U.S. Army or something like that.Do I have anything special ? I do not want to sell it.It belonged to a friend that passed away.Just looking for some information.

A lot of these were issued to gate guards at defense plants. I know that all the guards at Pratt & Whitney and Hamilton Standard during WWII were issued "Victorys"....don't know whether these would've had Gov't marking or not.
