    They are "Activ" hulls.They are available thought Ballistic Products, Inc. Their web site is www.ballisticproducts.com I trust this is the information you need.Darn - if Rembrandt didn't beat me to it. By the way Rembrandt - update us on how the hand is doing.[This message has been edited by AdamsQuailHunter (edited 12-05-2001).][This message has been edited by AdamsQuailHunter (edited 12-05-2001).]

    There was an all plastic shell called "Wanda", was this made by ACTIV also or was it a seperate company? Saw them and got a few at a trap meet in 1970; haven't seen any since then.

    I believe the Activ case does have some metal in it, but it is coated with plastic. I have a case in the garage that has never been opened.

    As a southpaw, I had the unfortunate experience of having a Wanda plastic shotgun shell practically explode in my face when it seperated around the casehead upon ejection. Granted this was better than 30 years ago and I was a teenager at the time. No harm done but some powder burns on my face and crap in my eyes. My dad took the rest of the shells and threw them in the marsh. Good riddence.John

    FWIW, Winchester also experimented w/ an all plastic shell circa 1960, but never put it into production. There are some examples around that bring a decent price as collectibles.

    Activ is the only brand I'm aware of in current production...the flad base of the otherwise all plastic hull has a steel washer in it (encased in plastic);They reload easily, but their plastic is a little more brittle than Remington or Winchester, subsequently, the folds in the crimp area start splitting after a couple reloads compared to many reloads with Rem or Win;Actives seem to cycle the best of any hull going in auto loaders / pumps, etc...the plastic is so slippery it feels almost like it's lubricated but of course it's not;

    I liked the Wanda. I have always had problems with plastic shells opening up & the overshot cup solved that problem. I much preferred paper, especially in .410.
