Brown Barrels

I am interested in browning the barrels of my duckfoot. Anybody have experience with browning compounds? Need to know almost everything about them as I currenty know almost nothing.Thanks

    I used Beachwood Casey quick brown on a black powder pistol barrel. Pretty easy, paint it on and bake in oven. Took a couple of coats to get it just right, then you apply something (not home and don't remember, but common)to stop the reaction. I then applied severa coats of car wax to to give it some shine. There are other ways, some more complicated, that may do a better job, But this looks just fine.

    I suppose that multi-barreled pistol could be soldered in places. Some bluing compounds attack these joints causing seperation. Be careful to read the instructions concerning that situation.
