what gun to go with?

Lately I've been in a position where I am in areas at night with expensive equipment. I've been considering getting a carry permit for those times I'm in less than desireable areas. I currently have a 4" 357 S&W model 19. Should I stick with this or does anyone have another suggestion.

If it works for you, fine. You may find it a little hard to conceal. The ones I carry are a Kel-Tec .32 ACP, a Kel-tec P-11 and a Kimber Ultra Carry CDP. All easy to conceal.
So many guns to buy. So little money.

I carry a Kel-Tec P40. Its cheap, easily concealable, and shoots well since the first 100 rounds.

There is nothing wrong with a Model 19. If you are comfortable with it stay with that.

Lots of good advice above.Personally, I'd use your S&W loaded with .38 special frangible ammo like Glaser Safety Slugs. There's less risk of harming an innocent person a block away, and faster recovery between shots.Neal

You said you carry AT NIGHT. The 19 will do fine. Whatever ammo you intend to use, go out AT NIGHT and shoot some. You will find that some ammo creates a lot more flash than others. Flash is bad at night. Steals your night vision at a time when you are already experiencing tunnel vision.

First and formost is the ability to shoot what you carry.Since you are most familure with your 19 don't change, as when the attack comes you should have the most familure gun you have. Not a good time to ask yourself,is this thing ready to fire.A split second hesitation can be deadly. If you do change, practice with it for an hour a day for as long as it takes to really get to know it's limitations and function.Good luck.

Thanks for the help. I think I'll stick with the 19. Any suggestions on a good carry method. Inside the waistband was mentioned. Any other recommendations. And what brands. I think I'll need to order over the net since there isn't alot of selection at the shops near me.
