Question about Franchi 912 / Beretta AL391

Anyone got any opinions about the Franchi 912 Variomax as compared to a Beretta AL391?I was quoted a price of $730. on the Franchi but that seems a little high...I want to get back into skeet & sporting clays after a 20 or so year absence.I shot a friends Benelli M1 Field Super 90 t'other day at the range.It felt *so* much better than the sledge hammer I used to shoot back in my sordid youth...(Eventually I'll get a good o/u, but that'll be a while down the road yet)RBIllegitimi Non Carborundum
