I have a Colt 1911A1 that checks out for all of the inspector's marks and other stampings as a 1942 manufacture. The finish is close to 95-97% and is original. I also have a mag. that appears to be of the correct era as well as an US issue shoulder holster.

    What is the approx. value?

I Am am looking at a Remington Rand 1911A1 that has been reworked at the Rock Island Armory and stamped with RIA on the receiver. All of the markings and parts appear to be correct for the gun except for the stocks. What effect does this have on the value of the firarm? Regards: Vic D

Arsenal rebuilt M1911/M1911A1's generally sell in the $500-600 range, regardless of manufacturer. Your gun in mint, original condition, would sell for ~ $1,000.You really can't compare arsenal rebuilds to the same guns in original condition---they are in a completely different category. They are collectible, but will never be worth anywhere near the same guns in original condition. Neal
