Anyone on GB use the type of shot maker that is sold without the heater? Will a hot plate work?

I have large amount of cast bullets in numerous calibers stocked up for the future. I don't have much shot on hand, came into about 80# of plumbers sheet lead plus another 100# already on hand and am considering making shot.

    Thanks,

    Jim

Since shot made from this process is not dropped from a tower,it would be nice to know how round or spherical it is by actual measurement? Does the roundness vary with shot size? In examining a bag of commercial lead shot recently, I was disappointed in the poorly formed shot. It has to have a negative effect on pattern and range.

I had one a few years ago when I shoot a lot of trap,so I tryed making my own shoot. It worked fine, but the shoot is not always round and if you don't get real hard lead it likes to make tear-drops.The oil that it calls for to cool the shoot when it drops into your bucket was hard to find here in L.A. and was not chep.I found that the shoot was only good for 16yd targets, anything longer it just did not have the drive and spread fast with same wads and load that I normaly used.

Littleton has sold out the business to a fellow by the name of Michael Burgess. He can be contacted at bbullets@nwi.net or 509-762-4419. Towards the end of Littleton's ownership it was a real pain to try to get anything or even contact him. This new owner seems to be very enthusiastic and wants to sell machines and accessories. Give him a try.

The correct e-mail address is: bbullets@nwinternet.com. I wish I could blame it all on the computer but unfortunately mostly it's me.
