I just recieved a 16" C.A.R. kit from Model 1. Becauase they are not open at this hour and I am curious to know I ask this question here. First does this kit not include or come with a muzzle brake. Second the big one they sent me a an upper which looks to have a 22 barrel. This will be my first AR kit I have built 1911's so forgive me if I am wrong should this kit not be in 223. One more thing does Model 1 not include a mag with thier kits. I know I could have waited till tomorrow and call them but you guys know how it is. Thanks

It wouldn't necessarily come with a muzzle brake. You normally need to tell them whether it is for a post-ban or pre-ban lower. The kits for the post-ban usually won't have any kind of barrel comp. The barrel will just be that, a bare post-ban barrel at the end. As for the caliber, don't look at the muzzle, look at the chamber. Is it bigger than a .22LR? Then it is a .223. As for the magazine. They don't send one because they figure some people can't have high cap ones in their state (or the completed gun in some cases). Besides they wouldn't know what size to include. Not to mention there has got to be a hundred places you can get a mag for an AR. Why should they waste their time to include a mag that some people already have dozens of?
