Anyone know how to reduce the trigger pull on a H&K USP .40? I have tried 2 separate armourers & neither said they could help.any bright ideas out there? Thanks!

There is no easy answer to acheiving a great trigger pull on the USP. The double-action pull can be helped by installing a Wolff reduced tension mainspring, which is cheap and easy to do. The single action pull is tough to improve. If you take the hammer out of the pistol, you will see a VERY small notch which is VERY difficult to stone. As a veteran of many 1911 trigger jobs, and lots of other design pistols, I figured that the USP would yield results by the tried and true methods of smoothing all the moving parts, reducing contact area between sear and hammer, etc.Not so! 2-3 hours of work resulted in much the same s/a pull as before. I have heard of a guy in Arizona, maybe named Actions by T, who is said to do a good job on these. Also heard it is $100 or more for such work, plus shipping both ways. Try replacing the mainspring first and see how you like it. You will get a better pull, although it is and always will be longer and heavier than you might wish. Remember that this is a combat pistol, not a target pistol.I find that I have to work a lot harder to shoot well in s/a mode with the USP than with most of my other double action combat pistols. That being said, if I do my part, I get the hits.

Hello East Bay. Why not install the trigger parts from a USP Match? In Europe, I have seen these parts available in kits. As you know, the USP Match has a great trigger right out of the box and the triger has an overtravel adjustment. This may prove to be a lower cost solution than alterations to the factory standard parts.
