problems at the glock factory???

Does anyone know if there's something going on at the glock plant that is delaying shipment? At the begining of the month I ordered a glock 26 from my local gun shop and it still hasn't come in yet. I heard a rumor that there was a problem with the machines at the plant and that production was shut down for a few days, putting them behind. Does anyone know if there's any truth to this?

I would bet they are filling large military or police orders...probably set up and making G22's or something like that. I recall in times past, that G26's and G27's came in spurts. Sometimes, dealers couldn't get them for 4-5 weeks at a time...unless they were willing to pay premium prices to some distributor who was holding a stash back.

Unless you are talking about "blue lable" LE guns I'll bet you they came from a distributor.

Glock reportedly did some computer upgrading that delayed production for about a month at the end of 2001.The rest of the the availability problem is good old supply and demand economics.

I went to buy a glock 19 in mid-December, and the guy at the gun shop told me that they didnt have any in stock, and had no idea when they would come in. I settled for a 26 instead. Love the gun, but would have prefered the rail. Guess I gotta buy another gun. What a shame
