M1 Garand and carbine receivers

I have two Garand Receivers both SA with numbers 797XXX and 800XXX in good shape but no parkerizing left on them. Also, have two carbine receivers, one Inland #5156XXX and one Winchester #1119XXX both in good shape. I was wondering what these are worth? Thanks for the help.

    The M1 receivers would probably sell for $250-300. The carbine receivers would sell for around $200. Keep in find that an interstate sale would have to be made through the buyer's FFL; you may also have applicable state laws.

    I was thinking of trying to build these rifles. Any idea of the cost for the parts and a good source? I'm a novice, so I'm also wondering how difficult?Thanks

    check out Shotgun News for parts kitsyou might want to have a local gunsmith check some of the critical fits for you along with the head spaceSarco is listing a pre-guaged kit for $180, I'm not sure if that includes the wood.Other than the barrel install it's not much harder than a detail strip / assemble

    The only hard part in assembling the carbine is putting a bolt together without a fixture. Both the receiver and barrel have good flats on them so with a heavy duty, smooth jawed vise and a large crescent wrench you'll be able to screw in the barrel and align it by eyeball so the slide works freely. A G.I. barrel should go in with the headspace being correct. If the gas piston isnt preassembled into the barrel you will need the special spanner wrench. If you get stuck, give us a holler.
