Sig P226: convert 9mm to .40 ?

Maybe Nunn or some other Sig experts can help me on this one. Can a Sig P226 9mm DAO be converted to .40 in SA/DA? I'm not going to attempt it myself, I just want to know if it's possible, would it justify the cost and what I'd need to change.-Marcus

DAO to standard DA/SA is fairly easy, just add the decocking lever and SA parts. 9mm to 40S&W will mean changing the entire upper at the least. It is not a worth while plan in my opinion. With the cost for the parts to do the conversion, it would be cheaper in the long run to just buy the gun in 40S&W.

Would the stock 9mm frame hold up to .40 loads? Most of the 9mm frames I have been told had to be beefed up to handle the .40
