I have a credit at a pawn shop for selling me a broken shotgun. I was offered a to pay the difference on an Ithaca Mag-10. So far this is over the phone and I don't know what they are asking for the 10 guage. I saw the blue book value, but I've been told they are worth as little as $250 and as much as $750. What is a realistic market value on these guns? Do I want a 10 guage? I think it would massacare doves out to 75 yard and probably knock a covey or two of quail out all at the same time. Kidding aside, what does a 10ga do to turkey, ducks, geese, etc that a 3" or 3.5" 12 doesn't? How reliable is the Mag-10 semi auto?Roy

Springs were the big problem with the Mag 10. But you can get a set of Wolfe springs at Ballistics Products for about $29. I have a Mag 10 with a 22" full choked barrel. Just bought a 32" modified choked barrel. The 10 is a better goose gun all around. It has a shorter and wider shot column.

the mag ten is a heavy gun, requires a lot of upper body strength, ive hunted with two different people who used mag tens and they were pretty stout boys, but the mags were deadly in the right hands. But they never had any trouble with the gun itself....

I have a Old Mag 10 that has been just an awesome gun for me. I am VERY hard on my guns with little care and LOTS of use. This gun has NEVER failed me and my youngest son(14) has already claimed it when the good Lord doesn't let me hunt anymore. I turkey hunt and Duck/goose hunt with it in ALL KINDS of weather and it gives its perverbialCLUNK,CLUNK as it fires without fail.(Knock on wood-Ha Ha ) Around here they sell from $499 to 600 and don't last long when they are available. Good Luck! If you decide Not to buy it please e-mail me with the shops phone # or addressThanksDan B in IowaDBQAuction@aol.com
