32 cal. S/W or 32 long colt?

I have found a colt snubbie that has police 32 ctg. on the 2" barrel. serial # 316258 and I amwondering if the S/W 32 will fit and fire without damage to thegun or me. Anyone Help Please Thanks Patrick

The 32 New Police is the 32 S&W long. Any differences are academic.
