Can anyone please tell me how to properly field strip this makarov? I like to clean semi-auto handguns with the barrel removed.

Removal of the barrel is not routinely accomplished during field stripping this pistol. Pull down at the front of the trigger guard, then run the slide to the rear, up at the rear, then forward off the frame. Field stripping complete.

After removing the slide, on the left side of the frame is a small little "Z" shape spring. I've been told that if you lose that spring, you'll have a hard time finding another one.
