Tritium for Trilux Scope?

I want a Trilux scope for my STG 58A. I notice that they all have the tritium removed(atleast the ones that I've seen do). Is this because the tritium has been depleted from use, or because it's illegal? I would like to find the replacement Tritium if possible...Where? Does the Red Anode that DSA and others replace it with work? Is the scope worth $230 without Tritium? What are your views on this scope as a topper for my STG 58. Isn't that what the Brit. Nilitary uses?
Thanks,
Mike

After a few days of surfing...finally had to answer my own question.
If anyone is interested, it seems that the sourse origionally used is a radioactive gas. A glass tube is filled with 0.22 curie of Tritium gas. This is a radioactive gas and the reason it is removed before import is "RED TAPE". Too much paper work to import radioactive materials/substances into USA. That's why some type of anode, usually red but occasionally green is put in its place. From what I gather, it is not a "night vision" scope. Rather, the Tritium lit inverted post reticle glows at ajustible intensities of green to aid in sighting in low light.
    That's all...
