How do you move the switch that converts the rifle over to launch grenade? The switch presses down but not over. Is it stuck or is their other ways to move it?

If it bleeds we can kill it.

I don't have one so I honestly don't know, I'm really just BTT'ing the topic. But make sure thats not the switch to remove the handguard your thinking of, I don't think that you had to do anything other that chamber a grenade firing cartridge in the chamber and stick the grenade on the end to use it.

There is a gas shut off valve for gernade launche. I know this only from other posts. My sks is not Yugo, so thats the extent of my help. Good luck.

At the front end of the gas tube there should be a lever. It should move side to side. That is the gas cut-off. There is a handguard/gas tube release on the right side of the rear sight that moves up and down. It should be in the up position before you fire or pistons, rods, and spring thingees may fly away.

The gas cut-off button should move freely. Push it down & to the right for semi-auto, down & to the left (or center) for "grenade launch". Down and to the rear for removal - careful- there's a small spring underneath that will launch the button! If your cut off button is difficult to move it's probably gummed up with cosmo & you need to remove it to clean it & the gas port.

I made an oops on my last post. The gas tube release lever should be in the DOWN position for firing. Sure hope this didn't cause anyone a problem. Must have been standing on my head too long.

We always have at least 20 of these rifles in the shop, and I am the one who cleans the cosmo off them, and out of the gas systems.I suppose you already know the gas cutoff is the round button under the launcher sight, about half the size of a dime, and it serves two porposes,to cutoff the gas,and to release the sight...so you can raise it..neat little set up.

Spray,or pour a a petroleum based solvent on it,se if that loosens it...I`ve never had one stick like that..weird the way stuff is!
