I have a marlin model 36G , when was it made? What is it worth?

It is the short tang model SER No. AA36350 It is about 98%, bore looks almost as if never fired.

I went to the Blue Book of gun values and I think, I found your gun. The marlin 36 is in many different makes, The Blue Book tells me G may stand for Glenfield, the 36 may stand for the year of production. They have it specified as Model 36-1st generation, and Model 36-2nd generation and even a Third generation. If its the 1st generation at 98% its valued at $425.00 If its the second they have it valued at $395.00 or the third is valued at $375 at 98%. I hope this can be some help to you, anyway it sounds like you have a keeper. Good luck!

    Thanks rugster!!

I had found some information on the 36 but in all my books the serial number prefixes started with a B, so I guess an A would be the earlier model of the 36, as the origanal was model 1936 and then shortened to to just 36

Go to marlinfirearms.com. Post your question on the bulletin board. They have some very knowledgeable people there.

I went to Marlinfirearms.com, They rejected my screen name because they said it contained the word "*" classic095. I guess they got nothing better to do than read something into names that actually have no relevance to the actual name
