I am going to an auction tommorow at an old gun shop. They have a lot of old ammo and I was wondering what would be a fair price on the following. All are in the original boxes. 5mm Remington Rimfire- .32 Short Colt- .38 Short Rimfire-.32 20 WCF in some kind of anniversary box. All seem to be pretty old in nice boxes. Thanks.

I recommend you visit the "other" gun auction site and check their "collectible ammunition" section.

    knifeuser -

The 5mm are bringing $50+ / bx these days. Unless you want them for a collection or desperately need them for a 591, I would caution you against putting much money into them, as I understand that new factory ammo may be available at some point.

The other items, it depends mightily on the boxes. The .32 SC $10 & up, the .32 WCF $15 & up. The .38 S RF, unless in real nice condition or a rare loading (e.g., American, Phoenix, or an even less common pre-1880 mfg), not worth the effort, but if really old, really rare & in really nice condition, they could go $100+.

Hard to give you much more than this based on the info provided - to translate into terms more familiar to most here, your question is almost the same asking "How much is a Winchester lever action in nice condition worth?" Mean no insult by that, just that the value turns on details not provided and not immediately obvious to the average person (nor, more often than I would like, to me! ).
