Does having this license eliminate my wait period at gun shows?

    Yes, for C&R eligible firearms you don't need to do a 4473.

    There is no Federal "wait period".

    Without knowing what state you live in no one could accurately answer that question. Some state have restrictive laws regarding handguns- whether it's C&R does not matter.

    Having a C&R would only exempt you from the Federal 4473 & NICS check. Your state may not.

    Yes, but....several cities in IL have firearms restrictions. It's not just Chicago.

    I am an Illinois C&R holder. As long as the gun qualifies as a C&R, over 50 years old or on the list, no waiting period at gun shows in Illinois. Do not think Chicago is an issue because I am not aware of any gun shows held in the City of Chicago. Just carry coppies of your liscense to sign and give to the seller.
