help identify gun( old titan )

i have a gun that my grandfather brought back from italy during WW2(at least that's what i've been told) it is a .25 cal titan stamped with EIG. on the other side it says made in italy it has a star with a circle then something i can't make out kind of like a shield then another star with a circle. then psf engraved and XXII. it also has a wooden grip any info is appreciated

A few things are working against the idea that this is a WWII pistol; first off the star proof marking and the star-PSF did not come into being until about 1950. The XXII code also dates the pistol at around 1967. It sounds like a Tanfoglio GT-25. A photo would clear up the ID question is about two seconds.

EIG was a post WW2 US importer. Your gun was made by Tanfoglio. It was not brought back from WW2.
