i've found all the usual info on the varios savage pistols and the military competition, but can't find the single definitive reference.
books about colts and lugers are a dime a dozen. is anyone cataloging the savage guns?

"10 Shots Quick" by Stern, comes to mind. Unfortunately it's long out of print. You might try Amazon or Bookfinder, might get lucky, god only knows what you would have to pay to get your hands on a copy though.

looks like $ 325.00 a copy........ used !!!!
i truly believe these were some of the best made pistols of the era. the machining is better than on same era colts (1908 .380) but the colts are collectibles, while the savage is just "interesting".
by the way, colt savage, astra in the early 1900's had much better machine quality than most of todays guns.
