The SP 22 is a target pistol with the mag release on the bottom of the butt. The mag has a plastic base with a corresponding notch in it for mag catch.

P 22 is plinker type sporting pistol with the mag release lever on the lower portion of the trigger guard just forward of the grip.

Both the SP 22 & P 22 are made in Germany by Walther. The metal bodies of the mags always looked identical to me. Obviously the markings and plastic floor plates are different though. I've always wondered if it was possible to switch the plastic floor plates so that the mags would work in either?
