When they quit using the m9 bayonet for the m16 did they produce another one

    The question is, does the US military currently issue bayonets?

    Answer, yes.

    Although the role of the bayonet has diminished, and now the tool is more knife than pig-sticker, the M9 is still standard issue for US Army. See here:

    US marines issue the OKC-3S bayonet, which is a modern bayonet rendition of the iconic Kabar Marine fighting knife.

    Don't know if there are still any older Vietnam era M7 bayonets in service, but it wouldn't entirely surprise me if there were.
