It's a bit of a job and fun to look up information on one of these olds Stevens made guns. They made so many different ones in various calibers/gauges. The following information comes from my copy 2002 copy of the Standard Catalog of Firearms.

STEVENS NO. 35 OFF-HAND SHOT GUN. NFA CURIO OR RELIC.
    STEVENS NO 35 AUTO SHOT.

The Stevens No. 35 is a .410 bore pistol manufactured by the J. Stevens Arms Company Chicopee Falls,MA. It was available with a *" or 12.25" smooth bore barrel (chambered) 2.5 inch shells only in two variations, THe Off-Hand Shot Gun (1923 to 1929_ and the Auto Shot (1929 to 1934). Total production is unknown because the .410 bore and the .22 rimfire versions of the No. 35 share the same serial numbers range. Researcher Ken Cope estimated that the entire was approximately 2,000 and the Off-hand production at 20,000 to 25,000. Production was halted after the government ruled the to be a "firearm in the "any other weapon" category under the NFA of 1934 when its retail price was about $12. The Stevens does not possess the same collector appeal as other .410 smooth bore pistols because (1) its relative lightweight makes it an uncomfortable shooter and (2) the gun is not well made.

    Values"
Off-Hand Shot Gun Serial number range 001 to 43357
    Excl.-$400, V.Good-$250. Good-$200, Fair-$100 and Poor-$100

    Auto Shot

In your previous topic that you deleted, regarding this Stevens 410. One of our members noted that the wooden forearm wasn't factory original, and that it had been refinished. Even though this is quite a uncommon and potentially valuable Stevens, because of the .410 chambering. These two non factory alterations, would have a negative affect on value.

As it's a shotgun pistol, that's regulated by the National Firearms Act. Be sure all the legal paperwork is up to date and vetted by a knowledgeable lawyer, who has experience with NFA firearms prior to selling. My understanding is that some States and municipalities prohibit NFA firearms, even though the federal statues allow for private ownership.

My father wants to sell, but the cost of form 4 transfers on both sides makes it more trouble and expense than its worth.
