I recently purchased a FN High Power in very good condition. It was one of the Israeli Hi powers. According to some research I have found that they put tape and what looks like green paint on the trigger guard. Supposedly this was for identification purposes. I was able to remove the adhesive tape from the frame but I dont know how to remove the paint without ruining the finish. Does anyone have any advice on how to remove it?

My favorite cheap paint remover is methyl-ethyl-ketone-peroxide. Use outside with good ventilation. Read and heed the MSDS.

And DON'T get it in your eyes!!!! (Is that in the MSDS?)

EDIT: OK, it is: Eye Contact

Eye contact causes severe corrosion and may cause blindness.
