What was the most rounds you fired in 1 day with out any malfunctions & what gun did you use?

    I used 4 M-60's in an OV-10. Flew 3 missions that day, fired out all three. Total 12,000 rounds.

    As opposed to many current firearms, U.S.Army small arms used to be very reliable. I've fired at least a thousand rounds through each of them at a sitting without a hitch. The most remarkable, were Thompsons 1928A1 & M1A1 recaptured from the Chinese and half worn out.They would digest grade 3 ammoslated for disposal that was so corroded you didnt know which end went bang. If you could stuff it in the magazine and the mag feed lips were straight, it would shoot; a tribute to both anmmo and gun.

    Got an old S&W 469 9mm I've put 8000-9000 rds. of mixed reload/factory ammo through without a single malfunction. The most I've put through it in one day would be 700-800 rds.For some reason this pistol came with a 1st Gen. hammer. The only modification I've made is replacing this with a 2nd Gen. hammer to eliminate the clunky trigger pull caused by the unnecessary safe notch on the old hammer. This one is the most reliable stock S&W auto pistol I've run into.

    400-500 .357mag target reloads in S&W 686 many, times practicing for action pistol shoots...not a hint of a problem;200-250 rounds most every Sunday for a couple years shooting trap and skeet with Remington 1100's and 1187's;Firing pin return spring would need to be replaced every few thousand rounds...5 min job;

    Not real high in numbers but plenty of bang, Five claymores and 75 rounds of HE from a 203. Lot's of big bangs

    1500rds in one sitting with my H&K USP not one problem,i have shoot well over 7000 rounds through it wonderfull gun
