I was wondering where I might be able to find some information, mfg date, production #'s, things like that, on a WWII era Walther PP in 22cal.

Thanks for the response. I can locate the serial # on frame and slide but I don't see any proof marks and what exactly am I looking for as a slide legend. Right hand side of slide has just serial#. Left hand side has, Waffenfabrik Walther Zella Mehlis (Thur), Walther Patent Cal 22, Mod PP, also has Walther banner logo.Ser# 257327 p

You should see little marks of a Crown over the letter N. Look carefully, see if its a Crown or an Eagle.

I didn't see anything over either N but I did find(after finding my glasses)three eagle marks, one over the extractor and 2 on the barrel one near the muzzle and one which is visable through the ejection port on the slide. These look like the nazi proof marks I have seen on other German guns of that time. Eagle holding a swastika.
