Does anyone have any experience with the Huglu shotguns made in Turkey? How are fit and finish? How do they print? Thanks!

Anyone here got any opinions about these shotguns made in Turkey? From what I have seen thus far they seem to be well made and worth the money. Any thoughts? Thanks much.

I have been considering purchasing a Huglu side-by-side shotgun. They look nice on their web site, but I am not entirely sure what to expect from firearms made in that corner of the world (Turkey) and Huglus in particular. Any feedback on quality, reliability, and availability of parts/service on these guns would be greatly appreciated.

I had a hunting club member trade me a NIB 20 ga Huglu shotgun. Anyone out there had any experience with Huglu ? It looks good and appears to be fairly high quality but I don't know anything about Huglu.

After seeing them at the SHOT Show in 2001, I was impressed with their fit and finish. A friend bought a Cowboy Action (I do not think that is what they call it), fired it twice, and the main spring broke on one barrel. Repair was slow, but well done. While this was disturbing, flat springs are sometimes flawed on the best of guns.

After having many used S x S's sent to me over the last two years, I had all but given up on finding a decent one. I figured I would either need to forget about having one, or waiting for the old Powerball to come through for me, so I could pay the price these kinds of shotguns are going for. Then I ran across a Huglu. It wasn't the exact configuration I wanted, but I was quite impressed with it nonetheless. So I ordered a Model S0 16 gauge, and couldn't be happier with it. I have a number of O/U's (Ruger, SKB, Browning, Remington) and think the Huglu compares favorably with them for fit and finish. And I can find no fault with it mechanically. I've shot numerous rounds of clays with it this summer, and it performed flawlessly. I don't know about longevity, but I guess I will find out sooner or later. This has definately become my favorite upland gun, and it has put quite a few roosters and ruffies in the freezer for me. At 6 lbs. 4 ozs. it carries and points like a dream. I would not hesitate to recommend them to anyone.

Crawdog, I am considering the Huglu in 16ga. What did you pay for your's and who handles them? I have never seen one in person, only in pictures.

ishootblanks - Check out their website at www.HugluShotgunsUSA.com. They show all of their models, and have a price list. They have sales outlets around the country, but I had to order directly from them because of the model, gauge and configuration I wanted. They are located in Rigby, Idaho, and Mark DeHaan - proprietor, is a great guy.Shipping & insurance to Minnesota (yeah, I'm a Mud Duck) was $18.00, and I received it within a week of his receiving payment. Check them out, I'm not disappointed.
