1907 Winchester question

It seems the 1907 is not a highly sought after collectors piece. Could anyone tell me why this seems to be the case. Thanks in advance for your advice.

Perhaps because there's no 'Western' nostalgia associated with the auto-loaders. The Winchester SLRs never really cought on, ever. Sort of a poor design, compared to the Rem m8. But, there are folks, thou not as many, who collect them. And, the series even has a book out that only addresses them. I'm sure there's several in this forum that have hunted with the m7 or 10, and will say it's a good rifle for whitetail, but there's so many other rifles that are better, that it's a moot point. Lastly, I've noticed that prices for the Win SLRs have been creaping higher so maybe things, collecting-wise, have changed.

The M05/M07/M10 were quite popular with law enforcement. There were 10-round magazines for the .351, but I do not know about the .401. There may even have been higher capacity magazines as well. Anybody know?I think Bonnie and Clyde had one of these, or was it the lawman chasing them?I have a fairly late one and I like it because of its appearance, but it kicks hard for the low power of the cartridge (it is blowback and the bolt is HEAVY). Ammunition is hard to find. Anybody have a sling swivel for a late one? The late M07 uses a screw-on front swivel as opposed to the integral swivel loop on the early ones.

Judge Colt, I have one that is 98%+ in a 351 with sling attachments but i am not sure if it is compatible with yours. i will give you my sling attachments if they are the same. My gun is 100% original, and I am going to get rid of it. However, I do not think the absence of sling attachments will effect the value. Any idea what these guns are going for in this condition? Thank you very much for your advice. Jay
