wolf .45 in para p-12?

    A lot of people like Wolf ammo as it seems to be accurate and inexpensive. However, it has steel cases which can damage feed ramps. I know some dealers that will not stock it for that reason.     At the place I buy most of my ammo in bulk, Wolf .45 $90/500 rounds ($.18/round) -- lacquer coated, steel cased, berdan primed, non-reloadable. Speer Lawman is $119/500 rounds ($.24/round), and is brass cased, boxer primed, reloadable ammo. For me, the extra $30 is worth it. And if you decide to start reloading, the extra $30 will be offset down the road.As AntiqueDr advised me when I bought my Springfield .45, "If anyone attempts to get you to shoot Wolf ammo in your new Springfield, kick them square in the danglies. Hard." I reckon he'd give the same advise regarding Wolf in a ParaOrd.

    you can usually get a different brand for a little more cash and not worry about any damage if there is any.....i only use wolf in my SAR.....i figure russian gun design will eat russian ammo with no problem....but yes i do clean my SAR completely after shooting...

    I like to shoot their rifle ammo in my min-14, its great for plinking, and their .45acp shoots ok in my Colt, but the .40sw won't feed thru Sig229 for nothing. Just goes to show, different guns like different ammo.Wolf is good cheap plinking ammo, but don't expect anything else from it.[This message has been edited by leeblackman (edited 02-05-2002).]

    What I've found about Wolf .45 ammo is that it is very dirty. Unless you REALLY enjoy cleaning your gun often, don't use it. It also smells real bad, especially if you shoot at an indoor range.-Marcus

    Yea, it sure is really dirty. The powder they use is leftover russian surplus powder from back in the day from what I understand. Its like the 3rds of powder. But I heard that the bullets are actually really good bullets, but thats the only good thing on them.
