Henry 22lr lever action

I'm looking for a reasonably priced 22. Has anyone had any experience with the Henry. Not the golden boy just the lower priced one. I'm somewhat interested in a lever action.

    If you want a new rifle at a decent price, go for it. They are about $189 new. There is some plastic on the gun, the wood is good, and the reciever is an alloy with a black finish. Trigger is fair at best, with decent accuracy. For the same money, about $200, you can probably find a good used Marlin or Winchester if you look hard enough.I would vote for the used Marlin or Winchester.Roy

    Hi Guy, I have had one fer several years now and like it, very smooth action and very accurate, Ive never had a problem with it,and If I ever lost it I would buy another.

    I've looked at some Henry .22's and I have to say that the workmanship is really bad. Wood to metal fit is terrible. I say stick with the Winchester Model 9422 and you will be much happier - new or used!

    A friend of mine has had one for about one year. He is is very pleased with it and has run about 2,500 rounds through it. I have shot it about 100 rounds with it. I was impressed how smooth the action was and how accurate of a shooter it was. It had a really nice fit and handled well. I did not like the plastic and the spaces between wood and metal on the rifle but I do plan on purchasing one soon. The company said if I didn't like the wood/metal fit on a new purchase they would exchange it if unfired. It is certainly not a Marlin or Winchester but it is not junk either.
    Pack slow, fall stable, pull high, hit dead center.

    My brother-in-law has one of these and it's a good shooter. As was already stated, the action is very smooth. Fun to shoot and very easy to blow a brick of .22LR in an afternoon. The only problem was, when he got it, it shot low and left, so he put a scope on it.-Marcus
