I bought a Rem M-8 rifle in 32 cal and was wondering if anyone knows where to get ammo for it. Or brass also. It was a prison gun and in pretty good shape. I want to shoot it.Thanks in advance Kidd

I shoot a .32 Rem pump. Cases are easily formed from .30 Rem brass which is still comparatively easy to come by and use Horn. .321" FN bullets. The .32 Rem is essentially a rimless .32 Win Special with a slightly shorter neck so I use .32 Spec load data and dies, being careful not to push the shoulder back when resizing. Proper dies are available from RCBS but expensive. You will also need the unique shell holder to fit the Rem case. My technique may not work for you as the case bases may need to be more completely resized after firing in your autoloader.[This message has been edited by jds56 (edited 02-06-2002).]

Try Quality Cartridge at www.owlnet.com/quality/ They have casing and loaded ammo for about anything.

Sorry about the double post. GB was acting up again. I have a couple more quetions about this rifle. I cant find where it has the M-8 on it. It has just one sling mount on the forearm. Is there suppose to be 2? Another thing I dont understand about this rifle is it seems that the barrel has a cover over it.. you can apply pressure on the end of the barrel and it will move down towards the receiver inside the outer barrel. I have never seen a gun do this.I have some pics to show if you cant understand what Im asking. Thanks again for all the help.email COWBOYKIDD@aol.com The gun is marked on the top of the barrelManufactured by the Remington Arms Co ILION.NY USA Brownings Patents Oct 9 1900,Oct16 1900,July 3 1902Why is a Browning mark on the gun?[This message has been edited by COWBOYKIDD (edited 02-06-2002).]

That sling swivel on the forstock unscrews to reveal the take down parts under the stock. (the model 81 only has a screw) The rifle is recoil operated: The barrel thrusts back inside it's cover tube upon firing to eject the shell, cock the hammer, and reload a new round.

Lee is advertizing a long slow slow taper neck expanding button that if greased up real good with moly grease might expand 30 Rem case necks in one go.

The Browning name is on the gun because he designed and held the patent on it. Model 8 appeared on the gun starting about 1920. Since the gun was introduced in 1906 there are a lot that are not marked model 8. It was just called the Remington Autoloading Rifle at first.
