Beretta 9000S

I just bought a NIB Beretta 9000S in 40 S & W - paid $425.00 which I think is a good price. I know zip about this gun. I usually stick to 1911s & Browning HP when it comes to semi autos, and plastic is usually a no go, but this thing just looks neat. Any opinions, negative as well as positive, of the gun?

I'm having a tough time finding mags - no Mecgar or Promags found for the 9000S. Does anyone have a source?

    Any opinions on this gun in 40 S & W? I've handled but not shot. It does have a rather wide grip which is OK for me.

    How do I get the firing pin catch lever positioned in the downward position to barrel on.

    Learning a TON of info since I started coming here about 6 months ago, just want to say thanks to all.
    Just read a previous post about the Arizona gun laws, the poster said how bad he wanted a 9000S. Made me go look it up. I liked the looks, so back to my local dealer to see "how it fit". It fit great.
    Now, here I go again...any pro's/con's Pluses/minuses ?

    Appreciate your help on my last post too, (Taurus PT111)...
    Ended up getting a Millenium Pro in .40 instead. Still have yet to take it to the range.

    Went to a gunshop yesterday with the intention of buying one of these, but the owner said they're not reliable. Said they have feeding problems. Suggested a Mauser P99 or Ruger KP94DC instead. Anybody else have info on the 9000S? Thanks for your input.

    I am wondering about the quality of this weapon as a concealed carry piece.How does it rank next to Glock,Springfield XD...etc?The price is attractive but I know nothing about them.Overall quality/reliability?

    I have a chance to get a Berette 9000S in .40 S&W pretty cheap. Anybody have any horror stories or praise for this gun. I have had several 92's and I don't have anything bad to say about Beretta yet. Never shot a 9000 though. Just wanted some opinions. Thanks.

    I have one in .40 and have put 3-400 rd.s through it. I've had a couple of failures to feed on the last round in a magazine. Haven't isolated whether that's due to one of my magazines or not. Other than that, I've enjoyed it quite a bit.I'm glad I bought the .40, but the downside is that the 9mm version will take 15 rd. 92FS magazines with a spacer sold by BUSA.You should check out either the Beretta Forum or Beretta-L archives for feedback from other owners.
