Im in the mood for a new 3.5 auto shotgun. Question, does the Franchi 912 operate in the same fashion as the Benelli Super Black Eagle? Whats the difference other than the price? Your thoughts please...The Nut

I would choose the Franchi. I live in a cold climate (South Dakota) and I have a bennelli 3" and it always jams in the later season hunts. I've thrown it across a lot of corn fields after the geese fly by and I get one shot off. Works great when it's not cold out. I have a Franchi 28 gauge and it never jams on those late season pheasant hunts.

you need to clean your benelli, everyone who has a jamm'n benelli and let me look at their weapon, it has been filthy, you also ned ot clean your mag/shell tube, a little mud in there will keep the shells from cycleing.

I have a super black eagle. "NEVER" has this gun jammed. Even when new they say shoot heavier loads to break it in & of course I being hard headed didn't. I have shot almost every conceivable type of shell from 2 3/4 trap loads to 3.5 turkey & goose loads. Its been cold weather, hot, rainey, snowey you name it. My hunting buddy has the 20 gauge franchi and it operates the same way. It doesn't look much different but he did use 2 3/4 shells instead of 3's and it jammed every time. RG

thats the exact gun I've been hunting with for 7/8 years, you'll love it !break it in with heavy 3" or 3.5" shells, that is necessary for it to cycle the light 2 3/4" dove loads, it wont cycle them all, but it will cycle most of them.. I shot the #6 dove loads, they work perfect, ever time.for aftermarket tubes, briley in Houson is the heads-up choice. http://www.briley.com
