Went to Walmart this weekend and found some ammo ( 45 , 22, 3030). they had just gotten a shipment in before I got there.
They had some Remmington golden _____ 22 ammo and I purchased it.
What do yall see as the best / better 22 ammo. ( please not the ones available.) Winchester has several versions as do others. Whats the difference.

    Thanks

Can anyone recommend a "standard velocity" 22.I'm a little confused by the nomenclature.I've seen high velocity, hyper velocity and hi speed.S&W suggested using a standard velocity 22 in their model 22A.Any suggestions would be appreciated.

O.K. I have shot plenty of different rounds of 22, but which ammo is acutally the fastest and quietest ammo out there? It's easy to find one that is really quite and one that is really fast, but finding one that is both is tricky.

Most of the "bargain" ammo you see in the superstores are "high speed". They have a bit more velocity and pressure than the "standard". Most of the "standard" is listed as "target" ammo. I've had excellent results with popularly priced "T-22" by winchester. In fact, I doubt whether your pistol would be harmed by the High-speed stuff

The least expensive SV ammo I've found is Aguila - you can buy it from the importer http://www.aguilaammo.com/prices.htm. It's very accurate in some pistols and is being shot my a lot of Bullseye shooters. Next step up in cost would be Federal 711b, then RWS target. You should be able to get either of these two here http://www.22ammo.com/22ammo.html or http://www.championshooters.com/ammo.htm. RWS target is excellent ammo, you can get it for less than these URL's but you need to order it by the case. My guns don't like 711b. If you need a source let me know and I'll give you the dealers name/number. Ely target pistol would probably be the next step up in cost, it's available from those two URL's above. Beyond these selections you're getting into expensive target ammo, usually made by Ely, RWS and Lapua - some of these can run you $10 a box.In my guns RWS target performs extremely well. In my guns high velocity ammo results in cracked slides - which are very expensive and difficult to fix. I don't know what it would do to your gun. I've heard of people having mixed results with Wolf 22 Match Target - I've never used it so I can't comment on it. Cost is somewhere between Aguila and Federal.
