What markings and where would they be located on a 11 inch lightweight upper-threaded barrel assembly.Help!!!

    Uppers are not firearms and by themselves, are unregulated. However, putting an 11-inch barreled upper on any lower will be manufacturing a short-barreled rifle (SBR), unless you you are talking about one of those barrels with a 5-inch flash hider permanently attached, so as to take the barrel up to the legal 16-inches. Be sure any upper that has the forbidden characteristics (bayonet lug, flash hider, grenade launcher, etc.) is only placed on a pre-ban lower, or you will be illegally manufacturing an "assault rifle." Uppers are not marked with anything to indicate their "ban" status. The features determine their "ban" status.
