help on Glock trade needed

Need some ballpark figures on what would be an even trade. We are trying to come up with an even deal to trade my Ruger P94 .40 Caliber stainless to his Glock full size 9mm. Both guns are in perfect condition. So what would be about the right amount of boot to offer him? I've got $425.00 in the Ruger tax included. I have the case and all the papers that come with it but am keeping the spare mag that came with the gun. Would like different peoples opinion on how much boot I would need to give to make the trade "equal". Try to look at it business wise and not with personal bias. A lot of Glock lovers out there and a lot of Ruger lovers out there. Thanks in advance.

If he has an extra mag(which glocks usually have 2 mags new), I would give him the magazine and 50$ Obviously you want a Glock and are not pleased with the .40, so objectively the Glock is worth at least that much more than the Ruger. Other things come into play like the sights, grips etc. Also the market is favorable for Glocks, and not so for Ruger. I used to have a Glock 19 6 years ago and did not care for it at all, but I sold it 2 years after I bought it, and did not loose a cent tax included. So this is just my opinion. If you want to be a shrewd business man try to trade straight up, the worst that could happen is he could say "no thanks" and possibly counter offer.

Look at it in terms of cost and see what would be best. I'm not sure how you paid $425 in the Ruger, being that the Ruger p94 cost about $350 max, incl tax. To get it that high I would assume you have night sights ($75), or hougue grips ($15)and a hi-cap mag ($50).I figure you're trading for a glock 17, which runs about $450 -$500. If they're both in the same condition, you should probably cough up a bit more, if you want to be fair. Maybe a Fobus holster or cleaning kit to balance out the trade.Still, I don't know why you'd trade a 40 for a 9mm. The 40 has such great stopping power and smoother recoil. I think the 9mm, even though you get more rounds, is too snappy.

i am with nick**. personaly i woudnt trade a ruger 40 for any 9mm. i have a ruger and am very very happy with it and it has 3 times the stopping power of a 9mm. the only thing i can think of is if you shoot a lot and dont reload you can find some really cheap ammo compared to the 40. i have shot several glocks that gave me more problems than my ruger ever did,and i dont like the feel of them in my hand[big]. i dont think you would be taking advantage of anyone by trading even. Yes I have that much in it. It was the cheapest one in town by $15.00Please post the name of the business where you can get them for $350.00 with "tax included". Plus you said that was max so you must know some place that sells them for under 350 I would assume? If it's mail order you have to add the FFL fee and shipping so that can't count. No way you can get a new Ruger .40 cal stainless for $350.00 tax included. If such a deal exist tell me where and if I buy one, you get a case of a beverage of your choice sent to you door. You have my word and I will owe you big time if you point me in the direction of a deal that sweet. Anyway......He just has one mag with the Glock(that I know of, will ask tomorrow) and it has the standard sights. Mine is also out of the box standard. He won't come off his glock .40 with all the bells and whistles. I like a .40 cal better and I never have a bad thing to say about Rugers.......freakin love them. However I already have another .40 cal but no longer have a 9mm. So that is the only reason I am thinking of trading. I want to see if the Glocks live up to all the hype. Glocks sure are ugly and cheap looking but I keep hearing all my friends brag about them as well as many other fellow users here on the boards. I was thinking in the rage of $50.00 boot also if he would not go even steven. Hope I can squeeze a .40 cal boresnake through a 9mm chamber. That would just be more money I would have to spend after I got the gun if it would not. Appreciate all the input so far, thanks a bunch. I bought a P89 2-tone 1-mag from a local store NIB for $342.35 exaclty, gun, tax and all.The guy offered me the P94 at the same price, but I was getting it for the missus and I thought the 40 would be too much for her.Believe it or not, I got the business card right here. Ask for Michael Sattinger. He always forgets my name, so just tell him the guy who wants a 357 Titanium Taurus sent you. Here' the info:Discount Jewelers and Pawnbrokers3939 N. 1st Ave.Tucson, AZ 85719(520) 888 - 0001I'm kinda suprised you couldn't find one cheaper at your local shops, because I'm pretty sure his supplier is Davidsons.Hey CANDRE35,You know, I had the same issue with my guns, but was almost embarassed to say. The P89 has NEVER failed me, no matter what kind of junk I feed it. The Glock 22 I have jammed a few times on me.
