Talon, I think the sighting system is original to the gun. There is no rear sight on the barrel. I don't have the Madis book. Any further info or history would be a great help. thanks much

    Most Winders were in .22 short. Those that were issued to the USA were used in troop training programs all over the country, to include the Guard, until after WWl. Could you confirm that the one you are looking at has only one barrel band, and no set trigger. If you could provide all but the last two digits of the serial number(123xx), I can give you the date of manufacture. For more details, will need your email handle.
