A 25-20 has less of a value than a 38- or 44-40. If it's in good condition, iron going to glassy plum, minor nicks and dings in the wood, and no special features, $550-675 could be expected. A little rust, a tiny crack in the stock in the grip area could reduce the value a little. An original blue that is still strong can increase the value significantly. But, blue quality is in the eyes of the beholder and judgement here takes a lot of experience.

hey guys thanks for your feed back. The gun was given to me by my father, along with several other guns. they are all very much blue with a "character" mark or two on the stalks, but no cracks or anything that would detract much from the value. Except a 25/20 is a fairly useless caliber. I also have a remington (?) model 12 (a?).22 pump rifle...the barrel is only marked "model 12", and does not have an "a" after it like others i have seen. It is also in "very good" condition very blued ocyogon barrel. Does anyone know if it is a "12-a" or something else or what it's value may be? The guns have always been in my family and will not be for sale. Thanks again Keep the lead a-flyin

The earlier Remington model 12 were not marked with the -a (22" round barrel), the 12-b (gallery special) had a 24" oct barrel, chambered for 22 short only, the 12-c has a 24" octagon barrel. My father-in-law left me his model 12-c octagon and was my wifes brother pissed LOL12-c values (2000 BBGV) from $200@60% to $500@100%Bob[This message has been edited by Tailgunner1954 (edited 02-12-2002).]
