i have just realized that the no5mk? "jungle carbine" i bought for $140 had the bayonet lug removed! any idea how to get another lug or am i just screwed. this should not be illegal since the gun had one originally.[This message has been edited by jdb123 (edited 02-12-2002).]

    Are you sure this is really a Jungle carbine and not one of the new Mk IV reworks? At this price I gotta wonder. Still, the part should be available. Check www.gunpartscorp.com

    sorry billy no response about the 10/22 and yes jonk it is definitley original it has the proof marks "no5 mk1 rof{f} 8/45 Q3231 also has the 8inches to barrel band to reciever ring not the 10.5 inches the knockoffs have. i think the bayonet lug has been cut.

    You might try looking through a Gun List, or a Shotgun News and call some of the surplus parts suppliers, it shouldn't be very hard or expensive to local and replace whatever component need to be replaced to get your bayonet lug on you Jungle Carbine.
