Have Remington Rand 45 auto 1911A1 s/n606772Been trying to locate serial number date for date of mfg. and qty. Standard catalog of firearms doesn't show that number being assigned to Remington. Can anyone date or tell catalog I could find in.

Your serial number does not match Remington Rand numbers. They started at 916xxx and went up.-Charlie

your serial # is in the last block of #'s for Colt in 1919, that would be a 1911 not 1911A1, however it could have been changed to 1911A1 at anytime by an Arsnal, rework, or by anyone just putting a remington rand slide on it.>>>>>>> so what you have is a 1911, (1919) Colt frame with a mismatched slide.
