I have had both olympic match heavy bull barrel and a rock river
semi heavy barrel on the olympic receiver.

The Rock River beats the crap out of the olympic.

I get 1/2 " at 100 yeds on that thing. (My owm carefully loaded ammo)

I can get you the name of a guy who will put together the rifle
you want at a reasonable price.
    I am at.

Only Colt made the AR-15. The others mentioned made similar rifles of varying quality. Of the three mentioned, Bushmaster seems to be the best to me.

What are you looking to do with it? I only ask because I have been researching Ar-15 type rifles myself. If your looking for a neat tactical weapon and you have the money go for a colt M4 or a custom HK SL8. Money for product....Bushmaster all the way....thats just my two cents :)

Most bang for the buck is Rock River but they are hell to get any email responses from.

Of the options you chose I would say the Bushmaster.

    Good Luck.

Here are some facts for you "Colt" fans.
The AR-15 was Designed by Eugene Stoner, Robert Fremont and Jim Sullivan for "Armalite", which was a division of Fairchild Engine and Airplane Corp. in Costa Mesa California. They were contracted by the United States Army Continental Command. Colt bought the rights from Armalite in 1959 for $75,000.00 and a 4.5% royalty. They began production and re-named the weapon the M16. The "M16" was also manufactured by GM and Harrington Richardson in the late 60's and early 70's. Now, the pattent that colt bought has run out and the "AR15" is produced by many manufacturers. The United States Government has had contracts with many of these companies to produce parts and weapons. Bushmaster is one such company. I was stationed in korea from 1986 to 1988 on the DMZ and was issued a Bushmaster version of the M16. I now own a post ban Bushmaster H-Bar AR15 and would recommend it highly. I hope this clarifies some of your questions and concerns. Get a Bushmaster, you'll love it.....

When Clinton left office they gave him a 21 gun salute. Its a damn shame they all missed....

You might want to look at the AR 180 B. They are slow in comming but for the money they are a good investment and they work very very well. My 2 cents. Then there is the Bushmaster series of rifles.

Sorry to digress, but I read with envy all of you who are able to purchase AR-type rifles. I live in CA and got into the gun game after all the bans against AR and AK type weapons were put in place. I've been drooling over the Bushmaster line for many years. There is an AR receiver that is CA legal, but get this, it doesn't have a mag well and is single shot only!!!! That's exciting. This is the first year that my wife and I have seriously contemplated moving out of this god aweful state in which we live. Arizona or Colorado might be next.
