The Ruger GP100 is a well built Double action Revolver. as a matter of fract it is much stronger than need be. The cylinder locks up in two places at the back of the cylinder and at the front of the ejection rod. It comes in several different calibers. It comes in .38 plus P and .357 magnum. Mine has the adjustable sights and is capaple of shooting better than I am. The SP101 is also a fine weapon I would say it is better for concealed carry,it has the two point locking system which may I say again makes this gun extra strong. And is availiable in .22 rimefire and .32 magnum and 9mm which must be used with moon clips, its also available in .38 plus P and .357 mag. My SP101 has fixed sights and I have been impressed by it. Also Ruger stands behind their guns for life. Good Luck.

Not a Colt Python, but definitely a good quality revolver.

It's only weakness is the typical Ruger trigger. It is much heavier than it needs to be. Can be lightened and slicked by a smith, and then you have a fine pistol indeed!
