Look at auction#3800424 - Any info reguarding if Ruger made the underfolding stock would be apprecated. There are no mfg. markings on the wood or metal. Gun was sold new as shown, with underfolder. The shape & form of the wood are the same as the sidefolder. Two people have made comments the underfolder was not OEM. Now Iam wondering if their statement is true? As since Iam the seller, I do not wont to misrepresent something if it is not so.
thanks for any help i can get.

This is an after market folding stock. Ruger never made one like that.

It is possible that this stock could be factory. I went to the 2002 shot show, and the mini 14 was a big topic. As Ruger now makes the mini 14 so it will not except high capacity magazines. I am a big fan of the mini 14 and 30. I know Ruger made some mini 14s for the military for the U.S. special forces. They made them how the Goverment wanted them so it is possible it is a factory made stock. The best way to find out is call Ruger have your serial no. ready and ask them. I think I speak for all of us when I say thanks for being Honest.

    Good Luck.

That is one of the old Federal Ordnance stocks. They made them for the Mini 14, the 10/22, and the M-1 carbine in the 1970's and 1980's. They actually locked in the open position very well, nice and solid.

I also believe that it's an aftermarket. There are even some out there that are side folding which seller claims is factory Ruger. Closest one is from Falcon, but you can tell the difference just by the pistol grip and the pin that locks arm in the folded position.
My buddy thought he had a factory (was a Falcon) but was proven wrong when I showed him my REAL folder. I may be wrong on the underfolder and maybe Ruger did make them, but ALL the GB's I've ran across have the same side folder as the GB I have. I saw one underfolder being sold once with the box and the box had Federal Ordnance on it. The others I've seen have no markings at all. A call to Ruger about it might put an end to this rather quickly. GD

This is so obviously an aftermarket stock, that I did not think it necessary to reply. Lrarmsx is right in his identification. Fed Ord made a bunch of Mini and other accessories, most of which were fairly high quality. I would put the factory stock back on the GB, sell what looks like a nice package, and then sell the stock separately. Someone who believes there is such a thing as a non-GB unmodified pre-ban Mini will probably pay big bucks for it. Just include a warning about not manufacturing an "assault weapon" when you ship it to them.

However, when I see someone saying Ruger has changed the Mini-14 so it will not accept high capacity magazines, I cannot be silent. Where does this stuff originate? Just look in the 2002 Ruger catalog in the magazine section. Only one magazine is listed for any Mini-14 ever made. A 2002 Mini will accept the magazine from my 1974 Mini, and the reverse is also true. Just how has the Mini supposed to have been changed so it will not accept high capacity magazines? The only way would be to create a new pattern of magazine, which would require a separate listing for new style of factory magazines. There is not such a separate listing.

The under folder you have is made by federal ordnance. They are very good quality.I have one myself.AS Judgecolt stated take it off and put the factory stock back on it and sell the under folder by it self.I have seen them going from $250.00 upto $375.00 and they seem to sell pretty quick.
