interesting rem. 700 300 mag

I was at my local pawn shop today and he had one of the best looking rifles I've ever seen on the rack. It is a Remington model 700 in a 300 mag. It stock looks like a bdl deluxe but its barrel and receiver is matte stainless. It looks to have a tapered heavy barrel with a recessed crown . I have never seen one like this and I can not find another like it anywhere online. Is this a rare remington rifle? He's only asking $550 and it looks to be a very strong 99%. It looks to be unfired . If this is a rare gun I am going to purchase it.

    Not rare, If it was your pawn broker would know. but $550 for a used one is high Im sure you can buy a new one for that.

    Why not contact remington about this rifle; go back or call and get the rifle's serial number. The serial number will infact support the idea that it is a stainlss model or not! Rem's web site provides you a phone number. Before stainlss was popular Rem did make a 300 mag with a stainlss barrel but it was blackened stainlss....had one and and sold it for $200, by was I goofy, shoulda never sold it. it was a BDL model...good luck.

    Offer $350 for it, that would be about right, $400 would be only if you really really wanted that one. For $550 you can get a new one, and a box of shells...

    I just wish I had a dollar for every gun I wanted, then I'd be a rich man.

    I'm as fickle as a woman. Went in to buy the 300 mag, left with a 7mm mag Sendero. But not just any sendero ,I got the matte stainless with fluted barrel. lol My wife was p***ed lol. Oh well, she'll get over it.
