Im trying to buy a COLT 45 auto pistol. I am having trouble deciding wheather to buy the new 1991 series 80 (aluminum trigger and wood grips) or the recently re-issued 1911(not the wwII model) Lets just say that money is not an issue (even though it would be nice to save the 275) and keep it simple. Which is the better gun and why? I hear alot of talk about the firing pin safety and how nobody wants it ...but I havent heard one concrete reason why. I have also heard that the new colts are built better. Please don't even mention any other brands and help me understand the pro's and con's of these two pistols. WHICH ONE WOULD YOU BUY AND WHY??

say the trigger pull is just not right and can not
be made better. Bull. I have a MKIV series 80 that
Mr. Wilson puttered around with and it lets off
at 3lbs. Don't anything about the "new" colts, but
have had MKs and 1991s like both of them. My
Gold Cup series 70 is a fine gun, but not better.
