Bankers Specials are uncommon. Where did your wife find it, and how did she know it was a desirable piece? Do you know what she paid?

I think the book undervalues these guns in the upper conditioins, especially in .22.

    To Judgecolt
She found it by shopping a lot of the internet guns for sale pages.
I have been looking for a Bankers Special for a long time, she was with me once when I drove over to Springfield when a dealer told me he had one, turned out it was a police positive in .22 cal.
I don't know what she paid and she won't tell.

I have been wanting one of those guns for years, congradulations you have a fine handgun. THe Blue Book says in 98% condition $995.00 bucks. I was at a gun show last year and a guy had one in .22 caliber,he wanted $1300.00 for it. I would give it a 95% NRA rating I tried to get him to take $1100.00 for it but he would not budge an inch. I ended up coming back to check it out once more. I ended up buying a Colt .45, every time I get it out to clean it I think back and wish I had bought the bankers special.

    Good Luck.

As I said previously, I think the Blue Book greatly undervalues these guns, expecially in .22.

I think a BS .22 in 98% condition for $1300 was a bargain. My BS .22 has factory pearl grips, verified by a factory letter, and I place its value quite a bit over $2000.
