I JUST GOT A YUGO SKS W/ GRENADE LAUN., CLEANED IT UP, CHECKED THE GAS SYSTEM (YES I KNOW ABOUT THE SINGLE/SEMI AUTO BUTTON) BUT STILL ONLY SHOOTS SINGLE SHOT. ACTION CYCLES PART WAY BUT NOT FAR ENOUGHT TO EJECT THE EMPTY ??

    They make a gas port cleaning tool if you have not done that you can buy the tool for a couple of bucks. This is the only way that you can clean it effictavely. If you tried that make sure all your screws are tight around the gas port. If thats not the problem, try replacing the seals that should take care of the problem. I hope you can get your gun straitened out.

    If you don't have a gas port reamer, try squirting some gun scrubber, carb cleaner, or brake cleaner in the gas port with the muzzle down. You'll have to take the handguard/ gas piston tube off. If there is a build up of stuff, this will sometimes clean it out. I plugged one with cleaning patch fuzz once.

    I've found that some of the Yugos have very rough chambers which makes extraction in semi-auto almost impossible. Check your casings for any bulging or expansion from an oversized or rough chamber.

    I DID AS SUGGESTED AND REALY CLEANED THE GAS SYSTEM, REAMED THE GAS PORT WITH A #25 DRILL, CHAMBER IS OK AS CASES EXTRACT MANULY, THE BOLT WILL OPEN PARTIALY ON FIRING AND THEN CLOSE WITH OUT OPENING FAR ENOUGHT TO EJECT OR FEED ANOTHER ROUND. I HAVE TRIED REM., WIN. RUSSIAN, CHINESE, AND LAPUA AMMO. SAME RESULT. I BROUGHT A REALY ROUGH SKS BACK FROM NAM THAT WORKED BETTER THAN THIS. ???

    I FINALY GOT THE THING WORKING, MAINSPRING WAS WAY TO STOUT. REPLACED IT WITH A REM. 742/7400 ACTION SPRING AND IT WORKS GREAT NOW.
