Thats funny ,I have a 5500 with a wood stock and Ive been looking for a syn. stock. I didnt Know anybody else in this world besides me even had a 5500. How well does yours work? Mine has trouble shooting light target loads , only works well with max dram game loads. Had the spring changed helped a little but still jams with the light loads once in a while. I would suggest a trade but my stock has a couple of dings from buncing around a duck boat. Nothing deep but could use refinishing.

Im not sure about the chokes, I was going to ask you that I have an Imp. cyl on mine which works well for duck. I would like a full choke tube for it for trap or turkey. Does yours shoot 3in shells or just 2 3/4.

Walrus & Tree........Guys.. maybe I can help, since both my son-in-law and I each have a 5500... They have the accu-choke tube system.. not the ones that are in the 835 Ulti-mag guns.... They were produced with two different barrels /chamberings .... The markings on the barrels are misleading / confusing.... Here goes..I'll try and explain..
One barrel is marked " magnum shells 2-3/4 and 3" only" ..Translation.... 2-3/4" magnum & 3" magnum shells only..Field loads (low brass) don't have enough ooomph to cycle the bolt.... The other variation of the barrel is marked" non-magnum shells only"... If you need a dove or quail gun, you need to find a "non-magnum " barrel..I have one of each...not for sale, I'm looking for a non-magnum barrel for my son-in-law.. anybody out there help....

Oh by the way....Tree..If you just don't like the black synthetic, TREEBARK, Roanoke,VA does a jam up job of paint dipping camo on stocks.. Check them out...

I also have 2 mossberg 5500's and would like to change the stock and forend to synthetic on one with the banged up wood. Will the parts from a 500 work on the 5500's?
